When I was in majoring in history in college, I felt like I should write a book. A Civil War, historical fiction novel with the general theme of the prodigal son. But the book never happened - I spent a few days working on the characters, got busy with other things, and walked away from writing that book.
But writing has always been something that I have continued to enjoy, and the idea of writing a book has been in the back of my mind since college. But I didn't have a story to tell. Now I do. Everything my family has been through for the past 22 months really is an amazing story - one that I am ready to tell.
So I am writing that book - about the struggle to bring our kids into the world and the heartbreak that came with the death of our 11-month old son, Anders. But the book is more than a book of heartbreak, it is a book of HOPE. Through the tragedy of Anders's death, my family has been surrounded by faithful family and friends and comforted by God Almighty.
